SNOW!

No, I'm not trying to catch flies... we spent a day during MLK weekend at the snow.  It was so beautiful up in the mountians - warm, sunny, we could have worn our bathing suits (just kidding!).  It was kind of icy in some spots because of the lack of snowstorms during January, but it was still very fun for all of us!  The best part was seeing my kids' reaction to the snow and how they liked/hated it.

Dad had a great time carving out some good runs for us to enjoy.  Jill even got a few runs in too!  She's our little dare devil!

Jimmy and Jilly ... not big fans of the snow!  It only took minutes for Jimmy to start complaining about being wet .. "My pants are wet, my hands are wet!"  It's amazing what you don't know if you don't live in the snow.  I think my kids prefer to just visit the snow.  But they really liked making snowballs and throwing them at me!

Josh and Jon having a great time on the slippery sled that we borrowed from our neighbors.  I took the little kids to the car and these two boys stayed with dad for another 30 minutes and had a blast!  They could have stayed all day.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end and once we saw the Highway Patrol ticketing cars on the road that we were parked on, we decided it was time to head out.  We stopped for Pizza in Grass Valley and headed home.  It was a great day!

Annual Scout Christmas Tree Recycling

I am so proud of our cub scout and boy scout troop!  Every year for the past several years our boys go out and collect donations and sign ups for Christmas tree recycling.  They spend many hours and walk miles through the neighborhood and even collect in front of various stores in the area.  Of course, they wouldn't be able to do this if their troop leaders didn't organize this fundraiser for them and I am so grateful for their service!  Our boys did a fantastic job again this year!  I'm so glad my boys are part of this troop!  Great job!
